Shutterstock and Twitter (I am back)

I know it’s been a while sense I made a post on the blog…sorry about that. This is not because of the lack of exciting stuff going on around the stock photography world, but due to my recent crazy work schedule that I have had. So, you will see a flood of updated coming out over the next few days. So let’s get down to the first cool new feature.

Shutterstock has teamed up with Twitter by creating the application Shuttertweet. This is a great application for all your tweeters out there as the application will automatically make a tweet about you newly uploaded files to Shutterstock. Talk about a great way to get the word out about your new images and possibly pick up some referrals too. Read about it below.

Showcase Your Work Using Twitter:
Earn Referrals by Auto-tweeting About New Images and Downloads
If you’re on Twitter, we just made it easier for you to tweet about all the cool work you’re showcasing on Shutterstock. If you haven’t yet taken the plunge into the Twittersphere, there’s never been a better time.

Introducing Shuttertweet, a new tool for Twitter that allows you to automatically send out tweets when new images and footage clips are added to your portfolio.

You can even make money through Shuttertweet because we include your referral ID in the Twitter URLs, so you’ll earn a commission from anyone who makes a purchase after clicking on the tweeted link!

Shuttertweet also sends an update regarding your download counts on a daily basis to share the success of your portfolio with people who follow you on Twitter.

Here’s how the tweets will look:

- I sold 10 images today through @shutterstock! My gallery is here: http://www.shutterstock.com (link to your gallery will be provided)

- I just got 10 images accepted to @shutterstock! Check out my gallery here: http://www.shutterstock.com (link to your gallery will be provided)

To sign up, login to the submit site and click the option under "Make Money", and then connect your Shutterstock account to your Twitter account, which will approve us to send tweets on your behalf. You can deactivate Shuttertweet at any time.
