Biggers better at Crestock

Image
Crestock brings 4 new files sizes to this site that spells more cash in your packet.  Also part of this update was pricing changes on their images and vectors.  This is a great new addition to consider the sizes of MP have skyrocketed over the last few years.  Below is their press release. We launched 4 new file sizes in October and now offer your images for sale in sizes ranging from XS to XXXL, depending on the size of the file you originally submitted. Our images now sell from $1 to $25, which increases your sales opportunities in both lower and higher price points from Crestock's original pricing structure. Remember: the minimum threshold for an Extra Large (XL) image is 6MP. We strongly suggest your submissions meet or exceed that size, so that your images are available for sale in the largest range possible. We also increased the pricing for all vector files from $10 to $15 due to their extensive scalability. Size Pixels Resolution Price/Credits XS 0.1

VEER Gets New CEO

Image
Brian O'Shea is moving onto bigger and better things at Corbis.  He will be passing the buck over to "Chelsey Schaffel".  Lets hope that she brings great new things to VEER and bring it even further into its own.  Below is Brian's letter about moving on.   Hi All – I’m proud of where we’ve taken things on Veer over the past couple of years. We’ve completed the transition from a premium RF and RM agency to offering a full slate of prices and content across the RF spectrum. With your help, we made 2010 a great year for our UGC collection and contributors – tons of new content and contributors from our massive Dash for Cash program, an improved royalty and stats display, we held our first Photo Op shoot event, and then ended the year strong by catching up on the review queue. With a great year behind us and another great year ahead - it’s now time to pass the torch. I’m moving into a new role at Corbis, and will be helping to build out an online contributor platfo

iStock Editorial Images Come to theTable

Image
iStock has finally announced that they are going to start accepting editorial images into their collection.  This is great news, as they have been one of the largest stock site not to accept any editorial images.  The announcement date is still to come, but they are vamping up to open those flood gates.  Be sure to read over there list of types of editorial images that they will be taking.  Lots of product images are in...sports for example is out. http://www.istockphoto.com/article_view.php?ID=939&utm_source=Jan2711&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ArtistCS

Year End Charts and Sales - 2010

Image
The wrap up of 2010 is complete and the sales numbers are in, see charts below.  I started off 2010 with a total of 22 sites.  I personally added 2 new sites, but dropped 5 sites who either performed poorly or closed their doors.  We will start the 2011 year of with a total list of 19 sites...which have links off to the right.  Over all I would say that 2010 was a successful year with an increase in revenue by 78%.  Top earner goes to my powerhouse Dreamstime , then iStockphoto , Shutterstock , and 123RF .  Click on the charts below if you wish to increase the size.  If I can do another 75% jump in 2011 I will then be ecstatic, so here is to hoping.
