February Sales Chart

Image
So another month of 2012 is in the record books.  Below is the chart for February sales and this month was a great one.  I had a huge increase from last month and also a couple of EL sales at CanStockPhotos .  Other big leaders where Dreamstime , 123RF , Photodune and Depositphotos .  Like always, if I didn't have a sale on the site this month then they aren't listed.  Full list of sites I upload to is on the right of the blog.

January Sales Chart

Image
Above is a chart feature the sales data for January, also so far total sales are up compared to January of last year.  The leader of the pack this month was Alamy which was due to a larger extended license sale.  Other top sites for the month included Dreamstime , Depositphoto , and 123RF .

DepositPhotos Launch Editorial and Tax Center

Image
DepositPhotos is becoming a stronger stock photography company every day as it meets the challenge to become a top player.  The company has officially launched their new tax center, which brings them in-line with the U.S. government requirements and also matching what several of the stock sites are now required to do.  If you have not already done so, send in your W-2 info digitally on their website (outside US see other options).  Along with the tax center Deposit Photo's will be launching their new Editorial images.  You can start uploading your editorial collection today for acceptance.  Editorial images is a fast growing department among the stock sites as news goes digital around the world.  If you are new to Deposit Photos then sign up here .  I highly recommend adding this company to your portfolio of sites. Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 7 Dec. 2011 – Depositphotos , the fastest-growing stock photo agency in the world, announces that it is...

Deposit Photos VIP Status

Image
Depositphoto's is rolling out more marketing features to bag some large profile contributors.  Very similar to when they launched their site they are offering features to help bring over your images to their platform.  One of these feature is getting a $0.10 per image, up to 500 images.  Also something I am not as thrilled about is higher positions in search results for large clients.  This is something I am sure several companies do, its just not something advertised.  If you are interested in joining Depositphotos click here.  Personal ranking of the site for me is between 3rd and 5th when it comes to earnings. Depositphotos offers individualized collaborative terms for those photographers who have a large portfolio and would like to upload it to our site. If you are a skilled and talented photographer or illustrator working with different stock photo agencies, and you have a large portfolio ready to upload to our site but no time to spare, we are ...

March Sales

Image
I know I am late on getting this posted, but here are the sales data for the month of March.  Hopefully this summer I will be able to process the massive amounts of images from Europe and D.C. I have collected.  Like normal for me Dreamstime took the lead with both sales and referrals.  Shutterstock showed a strong showing and finally iStock and 123rf where neck and neck.  Deposit Photos has consistently shown a few sales every month, but the numbers are still skewed due to the promotional program.

DepositPhoto Promotion Change

Image
For those of you using the Promotion deal with DepositPhotos they will be changing the program starting April 1st. Its really a small modification, but if you send in several images that have been rejected for poor quality they may remove you from the program...make sense, they don't want to look at hundreds of crappy photos that people are hoping to get a total of a $100 for. If you are not familiar with their promotion program, they pay out $0.20 per accepted image upto the first 500 images you upload. You agree the the photos will remain on their site for at lest 6 months, overall this is the best promo deal in the industry. Sign up for DepositPhotos here .

January 2010 Stats

Image
Well, due to a nice surprise at Shutterstock this January ended up being my best month every with my Stock Photography. I found out that I got my first Extended License over at Shutterstock , something that I have only seen once at Dreamstime . I doubt Feb, will be this nice, but here is to hoping. The top three guys this month was Shutterstock , then Dreamstime , and rounding out the top three was 123RF . I look forward to increased sales at 123RF when they launch their editorials section. Like always, check out the lovely pie chart for a full list of companies I had sales with this month ( click to increase the size ). Also, all other stock sites I have images at can be found on the left side of the blog. Oh, and I would also like to welcome DepositPhotos on the map with my first sale with them, which is great for such a new company.

Deposit Photos launches Referral Program

Deposit Photos adds referral options to their site. Its a pretty sweet program if you ask me, here are the highlights. Get $0.05 for every photo uploaded by a user up to 1000 images (total of $50). Get $0.03 for every referral that sells a subscription image. Get a 15% commission for every fixed pay as you go package. Get paid $10 for placing a web banner on your personal website. Subscription plans for buyers payout: + 10% - 1 month + 08% - 3 months + 06% - 6 months + 07% - 12 months Get a fixed amount for SMS sales: + $0.05 - SMS1 + $0.10 - SMS2 + $0.15 - SMS3 + $0.20 - SMS4 This is one of the most aggressive referral programs I have seen in the stock industry, hopefully this will lead to a strong start as Deposit Photos tries to get the world out about their company. I would also like to take a moment to let you know if you are a photographer then you can get paid for your...
